Paper bags, especially if they have any type of designs on them, as the chemicals may get into your food.

Defrosting in Microwave Ovens

Microwave ovens are wonderful devices that are great for defrosting food in a hurry. But, you have to be really careful when defrosting food, especially meat, to make sure that it doesn't partially cook during the defrosting process. Here are some great tips for defrosting food in microwaves:
Make sure food is arranged evenly on tray or plate, with no items sitting on top of one another. Do not defrost food in the tray that it comes in. Many trays have bar codes, which have tiny metal threads which can spark and catch fire.
Cover cooking dishes with the appropriate lid or a piece of paper towel to keep the moisture in, especially if you are defrosting meat.
Cook meat, fish and poultry immediately after defrosting in a microwave oven, especially if it has already started to cook a little bit.
